How To Use The Thermometer

Mar 10, 2020

Use of laboratory thermometer

(1) When using a thermometer to measure the temperature of a liquid, the correct method is as follows:

1. Hold the upper end of the thermometer in your hand. The glass bulb of the thermometer is completely immersed in the liquid being measured.

2. After the thermometer glass bulb is immersed in the liquid to be measured, wait for a while, and wait for the thermometer reading to stabilize before reading.

3. The glass bubble of the thermometer should remain in the liquid during reading, and the sight line should be level with the upper surface of the liquid column in the thermometer.

(Holding one end of the thermometer in hand can prevent the temperature of your hand from affecting the expansion and contraction of the liquid in the watch. If the glass bulb of the thermometer touches the bottom or wall of the container, the temperature is not measured; When the liquid column stops rising and falling, the reading is taken out, or the water is taken out during the reading, and the reading is not the real temperature of the water.)

Note: Do not dump before measuring temperature

(2) Temporary measurement of indoor and outdoor temperature

1. Hold the upper end of the thermometer with your hand and wait for the liquid column in the thermometer to stop rising and then reading again;

2. When reading, the line of sight should also be flush with the top of the liquid column of the thermometer;

3. If you want to measure the outdoor temperature for a long time, hang the thermometer in a shaded and ventilated place.
